Spirit-Free Sbagliato

A perfectly stunning NA drink to sip on all night long, without fear of overindulging.

A refreshing cocktail with a slice of lemon is being poured into a wine glass on a dark wooden surface, with a bowl of sliced oranges and a knife to the side.

A classic Sbagliato—Italian for “broken,” as a “broken” Negroni, subbing sparkling wine for gin—is made with Campari, sweet vermouth, and Prosecco. The result is a bitter yet juicy long drink, and this non-alcoholic version from Erin Ashford, co-owner of Holiday, is no different.

Subbing Giffard’s NA aperitivo—a woman-owned French liqueur company—for Campari keeps the important, bitter base notes of the drink intact, while sweet vermouth is replaced with fresh orange juice to complement the bitter undertones and give way to the bright, quinine flavor of tonic water. Serve over ice at your next get-together or dinner party, and let it become your new NA alternative.
